nuts & berries [gay freebuild] is a ClassiCube server owned by klarameow that uses the MCGalaxy server software.

It is primarily a freebuild server in the same vein as MCGalaxy With Cheese. The default rank is Guest, however, the guest rank in nuts & berries has significantly more permissions, granting those with the role the ability to use draw commands and create their own overseer maps. The main map in the server is a freebuild map, which resets every 4 weeks. One notable feature is the global environment settings, which make everything in the server pink. It is currently hosted on a home server of klarameow's running openSUSE Leap.

Ranks

The server has 6 ranks, with the only vanilla MCGalaxy ranks being Banned, Guest and Nobody. The ranks are as followed:

• Banned, a default MCGalaxy rank used for more severe cases of Lusers; mostly used prior to the introduction of the usa map.
• LostSoul, a rank for Lusers who are forever condemned to wander the usa map.
• Guest, a rank for new players.
• Meower, a rank seemingly given to players who type "meow" or any similar onomatopoeia in the chat.
• Superuser, the rank that moderators have.
• Nobody, a rank above all of the staff, used by the IRC and Discord bridge bots.

Former ranks

• Regular, a rank for non-meowers who would regularly play on the server; ultimately removed as only a couple of people fit the criteria and the permissions were overlapping with the Guest rank.
• Trusted, a rank for anyone who had the trust of the administration, but not to a degree warranting their promotion to the staff team; renamed to Meower on 2024-09-26.
• Operator, a default MCGalaxy rank for staff members, eventually replaced by Superuser.
• SuperOP, a default MCGalaxy rank for staff members, eventually replaced by Superuser.

History

ClassicalNuts, the technical ancestor to nuts & berries as well as Omniarchive Classic, was first opened on 2021-06-30 as a chain of Minecraft Classic servers, including freebuilds for c0.30/ClassiCube, c0.0.16a_02, Indev 20100223 MP and Indev 20100130 MP, as well as Project Mausoleum, which was most probably a read-only archive of old Classic maps. Having gained popularity after its inclusion in a 2021 video by Minecraft YouTuber AntVenom, it gained a reputation for being one of ClassiCube's more LGBT-friendly servers. Eventually, however, the administration decided to refocus on solely the c0.30/ClassiCube freebuild as the other branches became inactive and were eventually shut down throughout late 2021 and early 2022. In May 2022, the then-owner of the server - MisterSheeple - announced it was being rebranded to a part of Omniarchive, while the ClassicalNuts brand was said to be planned to be used in future projects of Sheeple's. It never was.

While the original c0.30/ClassiCube server lives on in Omniarchive's hands, the situation became unsatisfactory to a part of the community towards mid-2024. After a combination of several incidents involving the original owner, drama involving then-Omniarchive Classic operator klarameow as well as a sudden gain of access to a branch of Omniarchive Classic's server files from early 2023, a revival of ClassicalNuts was opened on 2024-06-30 with the involvement of both former (klarameow, UmbreoClaw) and current (icanttellyou) Omniarchive Classic players. During the period after its opening, rapid changes to the block list and ranks were made, making for the most notable deviations from a default MCGalaxy configuration. Eventually, the server settled on focusing on ClassiCube's queer community; on 2025-01-28 it was renamed to its current name due to the original brand's association with MisterSheeple and because the new name sounds cute. It is in this form that the server continues to this day.

Featured Maps

The server is home to several notable maps besides the main freebuild, including but not limited to:

• City - a city map not unlike Obamacity in MCGalaxy With Cheese, albeit with far less lore significance.
• Conputer - a 2 km² chamber containing 166872 conputer seats; its origin or purpose is unknown.
• Mark Sweep Hub - a hub allowing you to access a multitude of levels. In spite of its similar purpose to the main level on MCGalaxy With Cheese, it is not used in this manner.
